Credit File

Your borrowing history across the three credit bureaus. Check before applying.

What is Credit File?

Your credit file is a record of your borrowing history held by Australia's three credit bureaus: Equifax, illion and Experian. It shows loan applications, accounts held, repayment history, defaults and court judgements.

Why it matters for you

Too many credit enquiries in short succession can hurt your score — even if none of them resulted in a loan. Late payments, defaults and old debts stay on file for up to 7 years. Check your file (free once a year at each bureau) before any major application.

Let's assess before you apply
