Home loans / Home Loan Review

Your life moves on. Does your loan still fit?

A Home Loan Review is a conversation about the loan you have and the plans ahead. Revisit the rate, costs, features and remaining term before deciding whether to keep things as they are, speak with your lender or explore a switch.

Reasons to revisit your loan

You do not need to wait for a problem.

Wity's support for existing clients includes a settling-in check around a month after settlement and an annual Home Loan Review. You can also contact the team when your plans change.

My fixed-rate period is ending.

Understand the next loan period

Check the end date and your lender's proposed rate and repayments. Compare the available paths before the change, including any break costs if you are considering an earlier move.

I want to know how my loan compares.

Bring the whole loan into view

Use your current rate as a starting point. Fees, the features you actually use, switching costs and the remaining term all belong in a useful comparison.

Our income or household has changed.

Revisit the budget and priorities

A change in work, caring responsibilities or household costs can change what you need from the loan. Explain the change so the review is grounded in your current circumstances.

We have another property plan.

Start the next conversation early

Moving, renovating or considering another purchase raises new funding questions. A review can identify what needs assessing; an equity figure alone is not approval for more borrowing.

What to have ready

A few current details make the conversation useful.

Check your lender records before the meeting. Portal figures can help orient the conversation, but they may need updating.

See what refinancing involves
Your current loan position
Bring the balance, rate, repayments, fees, remaining term and any fixed or interest-only expiry date. Include your offset balance and the features you use.
Changes since the last conversation
Explain changes to income, expenses, debts, dependants and property plans. Say what you want the loan to do differently and what is working well.
The cost of each path
If switching is considered, include discharge fees, new-loan costs, government charges and any fixed-rate break cost. Keep the remaining term in view when comparing repayments.

A review does not require a refinance. Any recommendation for a new loan needs its own assessment and WityLoanPlan; a lower repayment alone does not establish a lower total cost.

The next steps

A review that leads to a clear next step.

The outcome might be to keep your current arrangement, seek an explanation from your lender or assess a change.

  1. Book a conversation

Choose a time and tell the team what prompted the review. Existing clients can also use the booking action shown with their available portal review date.

  2. Update the picture

Work through the current loan details, household circumstances and goals. Confirm any figures that are missing or have changed since the last discussion.

  3. Consider the paths

Discuss the questions to investigate, including keeping the loan, preparing your own lender negotiation or exploring refinancing. Any new-loan recommendation belongs in your adviser's WityLoanPlan.

  4. Agree the next action

Know what you need to provide and what the team will check next. If a refinance is appropriate, it follows the separate comparison, advice and application process.

Reviews are supported by the Wity team. This page does not provide continuous rate monitoring, automatic switching or an instant loan assessment.
