Title Insurance

Protects against title defects, boundary disputes, unauthorised works, and fraud.

What is Title Insurance?

Title insurance protects the buyer against defects in the property title, boundary disputes, unauthorised construction, and fraud. A one-off premium (usually $500–$1,500), covering the owner for as long as they hold the property.

Why it matters for you

Particularly valuable when a property has unapproved works, unclear boundaries, or a complex ownership history. Not always essential — your conveyancer's due diligence catches most issues. Worth asking your solicitor whether it makes sense for your specific purchase.
